He was assigned to the 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska.
Seaman Sandra S. Grant , 23, of Linwood, N.C., died from natural in the Arabian Sea. She was assigned to the USS Eisenhower.
Cpl. Jonathan E. Schiller , 20, of Ottumwa, Iowa, died in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was conducting a combat patrol. He was assigned to the 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Cpl. Richard A. Smith, 20, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died in Baqubah, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated while he was conducting a combat patrol. He was assigned to the 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

Sgt. John M. Sullivan , 22, of Hixon, Tenn., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle while on combat patrol. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. Lawrance J. Carter , 25, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
Pvt. David E. Dietrich , 21, of Marysville, Pa., died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his unit came in contact with enemy forces using small arms fire while on combat patrol. He was assigned to the 1st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Friedberg, Germany.
Pfc. William R. Newgard, 20, of Arlington Heights, Ill., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.

Spc. Luis G. Ayala , 21, of South Gate, Calif., died in Taji, Iraq, of wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit while on combat patrol. He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
Sgt. Aron C. Blum , 22, of Tucson, Ariz., died at Naval Medical Center in San Diego, Calif., of a non-hostile cause after being evacuated from Anbar province, Iraq, on Dec. 8. He was assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron 352, Marine Aircraft Group 11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif.
Cpl. Christopher E. Esckelson, 22, of Vassar, Mich., died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Saginaw, Mich.
Lance Cpl. Nicholas A. Miller, 20, of Silverwood, Mich., died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 1st Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Saginaw, Mich.
Lance Cpl. William D. Spencer, 20, of Paris, Tenn., died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserve’s 3rd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Nashville, Tenn.

Lance Cpl. William C. Koprince Jr., 24, of Lenoir City, Tenn., died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.
Pvt. Clinton T. McCormick, 20, of Jacksonville, Fla., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated during combat operations. He was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. John T. Bubeck, 25, of Collegeville, Pa., died of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq, on Dec. 25. He was assigned to the 9th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany. He later died Dec. 26.

Sgt. Jason C. Denfrund, 24, of Cattaraugus, N.Y., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his unit while on patrol. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.
Sgt. 1st Class Dexter E. Wheelous, 37, of Winder, Ga., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. He was assigned to the 842nd Military Training and Transition team, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.
Sgt. Jae S. Moon, 21, of Levittown, Pa., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle while on patrol Dec. 14 in Baghdad, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 12th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Lance Cpl. Stephen L. Morris, 21, of Lake Jackson, Texas, died while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

Spc. Michael J. Crutchfield, 21, of Stockton, Calif., died in Balad, Iraq, of a non-combat related injury. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Spc. Elias Elias, 27, of Glendora, Calif., died in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle while on patrol. He was assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 61st Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.

Sgt. 1st Class Theodore A. Spatol, 59, of Thermopolis, Wyo., died of a non-combat related illness in Thermopolis on Dec. 14. He was assigned to the 1041st Engineer Company, Rock Springs, Wyo.
Lance Cpl. Luke C. Yepsen, 20, of Kingwood, Texas, died due to injuries suffered from enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Tank Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, Calif.

Sgt. Brent W. Dunkleberger, 29, of New Bloomfield, Pa., died of injuries suffered when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his vehicle during a convoy security mission in Mosul, Iraq. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Sgt. Clint E. Williams, 24, of Kingston, Okla., died of injuries suffered in Baghdad, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
